Avenue Primary School in Leicester takes great pride in their Green Flag accreditation – so their low power use requirement was an important consideration when it came to specifying their new stage lighting setup.
Parts of the school are also Grade 1 listed, so the challenges were clear for SES Technical. An exciting, easy to use, versatile and modern stage lighting system that drew far less power than their old legacy setup was needed – which could be installed with the Listings criteria in mind.
“Great care was taken with the installation to not disturb these areas” – Jeff Pallet, Managing Director, SES Technical.
“Really impressive… excellent quality installation”.

Stagg SLI Kingpar 1-0 lights were installed. Each of the 21 x 3W units features seven separate RGB lights – enabling any combination of colour washes to be achieved without the old-fashioned and awkward necessity for coloured gels.
Stagg 60w zoom profile Warm white LED lights were also deployed.
All these LED units use comparatively little electricity.
“These affordable, portable desks specialize in streamlined, plug-and-play setup; the onboard fixture library makes traditional patching easy, and the console has the ability to recognize RDM-capable devices in the rig and auto-populate them in patch. Simply use the on-board touchscreen drag each fixture into place on a customizable stage map, and you’ll be programming in minutes” – ETC.
Avenue Primary School takes their eco responsibilities very seriously and were recently rewarded, as demonstrated on their website.
“Avenue have been re-accredited with the Green Flag Award – a wonderful achievement, please see our flag flying proudly in the playground.”
“Green Procurement considers the environmental aspects, potential impacts and costs, associated with the life cycle assessment of goods and services being acquired. It focuses on the practice of procuring products and services that are less harmful to the environment (land, air and water). Green products purchased should be those that are made with less harmful materials or which when produced or used or consumed would have a minimal impact on the environment. This includes buying local and reducing your carbon footprint.”
